Obtaining a death certificate
The Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages can issue a certified death certificate. The original certificate will be required when attending to administration of the estate, such as notifying Centrelink and closing bank accounts.
As your funeral director, we can apply for and purchase the certified death certificate on behalf of the estate, after cremation or burial has occurred.
The certificate is available approximately 10-14 working days after the funeral has taken place. Once it is received by Frank J Siebert it will be sent to the nominated family representative.
